On August 15, 2018 a new Marriott hotel was unanimously approved by City Council. The proposed development is located at the southwest corner of W. Huntington Drive and S. Myrtle Avenue.

Tharaldson Investment is proposing five-story hotel with 109 rooms on the 1.71 acre site. DesignCell Architects have imaged a mix of rooms primarily consisting of one-bedroom, double-queen, and king studios. Amenities in the hotel will include exercise room, lounge, and outdoor pool. 109 onsite parking spaces will accomadate the guest, vistors, and employees to minimize impact on local area.
